The classic Blue Bottle Chemex method, known for producing a clean, tea-like cup. This recipe highlights delicate flavors and bright acidity.

Ingredients

Coffee 42g
Water 700ml
Temperature 93°C
Grind Medium-coarse
Ratio 1:16.7
Time 4:30-5:00
Place Chemex filter with triple-fold facing spout
Rinse filter thoroughly with hot water, discard rinse water
Add 42g coffee ground medium-coarse (sea salt texture)

Start timer, pour 84g water in spiral for bloom

Pour to 200g in slow, steady spiral
2:15
Pour to 400g maintaining even saturation
3:00
Pour to 700g for final brew weight
5:00
Allow complete drawdown (target 4:30-5:00 total)
Remove filter and serve immediately
